Costa Brava
The term "Costa Brava" was first published by the catalan journalist in "La Veu de Catalunya" newspaper on the 12th of September 1908
The Costa Brava is a coastal region of northeastern Catalunya, Spain, in the comarques of Alt Empordà, Baix Empordà and La Selva, in the province of Girona. Costa is the Catalan and Spanish word for 'coast', and Brava means 'rugged' or 'wild'. The Costa Brava stretches from Blanes, 60km northeast of to Barcelona.

One of the most important natural reserves in Catalunya, we can find it in Cabo de Creus. It´s territory belongs to the municipalities of Cadaqués, Puerto de la Selva, La Selva de Mar, Llançà, Vilajuïga, Pau, Palau-Saverdera and Rosas.
This is a small group of islands 900 m from Estartit, in the friendly town of Torroella de Montgrí, in the northern end of the Costa Brava. They are the only islands in the coast of Catalunya and the are formed by elevations of the Sierra of Montgrí. There is a total of seven islands formed of rocks and submarine caves. This is a protected area due to it´s rich echo system and ideal place for diving.
Right in the middle of the Costa Brava, this Marine Reseve it´s located in Bajo Ampurdán, Begur. It has a coast of 1300mts between Sa Riera Beach and Aiguafreda. With a total of 80 ha which includes cliffs surrounding the Begur mountains.
Clean waters, beaches and small calas, Costa Brava has some of the most splendid scenary in Spain, from the french border to the southern tip of Catalunya.
