What to do in A Coruña| Northern Spain

This is the most important industrial province of Galicia. Its capital(A Coruña) is a an important fishing and port in Spain. is the second largest city in Galicia and in northwestern Spain, second only in size to the port of Vigo in Pontevedra Province.

Old Town of A Coruña

The coast is of rocky appearance and a characteristic flora and fauna. At the foot of the park is the city of A Coruña in a way never seen before. Visitors can view the entire city and the Orzán Bay, the Hombre Museum, the Aquarium and the Tower of Hercules, and other important landmarks of La Coruna.

The countryside of A Coruña and it´s rural areas have a exceptional scenary.

Redes: We´ll find the small town of Redes between Pontedeume and Ferrol. It´s a fishing village with a couple of nice beaches and local galician architecture near by.

 

San Andres de Teixido(A Coruña): This is a traditional galician town, in the coruñan locality of Regua. The legend says that the Saint from San Andres was a bit jealous of the amount of pilgrims going to Santiago, and that one day he received the visit of God and San Pedro. God ended up listening and proimised to him that all mortals shall visit it´s Sanctuary, may they not do it in life, they´ll visit in the after life. And so it is, that the chapel from San Andres is one of the most visited places on the Santiago´s Way, or Camino de Santiago Pilgrimage.

 

A Capela: A Capela it´s a small town north of the province of A Coruña. The town itself it´s peacefull and picturesque, sometimes interrupted by local "fiestas" or traditions.

Arteixo: Arteixo in the Province of A Coruña it´s south of A Coruña town,

east of Culleredo and south and west of Laracha. There is a few places here we may visit, the Arteixo Thermal Baths, in the town centre, from the 1760s. There is some wonderfull local architecture, such as the State Homes of Atin, Anzobre, Mosende and a couple of more. The beaches of Arteixo are the Cambouzas Beach, Area Grande, Los Suevos Beach and Sabón beach. We have to consider when visiting Arteixo or Galicia in general that the weather may be a bit wet during winter, with a lot of rainfalls and wind.

Cedeira: Another small town of A Coruña, it´s in the north coast of the galician Rías Altas. The rural landscape of Cedeira, old houses, and stone roman bridges, makes it a unique place to visit in A Coruña. the beaches of Cedeira are the Sonreiras Beach, Area Longa, and Burbujas Beach(Bubbles Beach).

How to get there: The journey is about 25minutes by bus leaving every half an hour from the airport making stops at Casino, Plaza de Orense, A. Molina Avenue, Alcampo, Portazgo, Corveira and Vilaboa.
