Alicante (Alacant) is the 2nd largest city of Valencia, we will find Alicante(Spain)on the Mediterranean sea, and thus its extensive coastline, south of the province of Valencia. It has a warm climate throughout the year and an economy based on tourism. This province has many places we should visit, Elche, Orihuela, Benidorm, Altea .. Alicante has always been historically a walled city for fear of attacks. As in medieval times the city was conquered by the Muslims, and the walls were built to defend it. Despite having these defenses, Alicante destroyed in 1691, we can see the remains what the city was before and after.
Originally Alicante was built facing south, to protect the town from the cold winds from the interior of Spain.

Tabarca Island: The small islands of Tabarca is composed of the islets of La Cantera, La Galera and La Nao. It has the curiosity of being the only inhabited island of the Valencian community and is located 11 nautical miles (about 20km) from the city of Alicante. It has about 80 inhabitants. Alicante Fish Market(s. XX): From the early twentieth century, is an industrial building historicist style, which includes neo-Arab ornamental details. It´s used since 1992 as an exhibition centre.

The Abastos Market: The Food Market in Alicante (Spain) is located at Avenida Alfonso X "El Sabio"(The Wise), is an eclectic style building ornaments it was designed by modernist architect Enrique Sanchez Sedeno and built in 1921. Santa Bárbara Castle(Alicante): The Santa Barbara Castle is located in the center of the city of Alicante, on Mount Benacantil of 166 m. altitude. Dominates the Huerta de Alicante(Alicante Fields)and from there you can see the island of Tabarca. Old Arab castle was rebuilt by the Christians and consists of three patios of the fourteenth, sixteenth and eighteenth centuries.
The most important festival in Alicante is Easter, the feast of the Moors and Christians which carried out in 5 parts of the city at different dates and with a magnificent representation of the Spanish Reconquest, and the Cruces de Mayo, where the peoples of Santa Cruz decorate the streets with flowers.

La Dama de Elche(Lady of Elche): This Iberian bust carved limestone was found in 1897 by builders near the town of Elche. Emblematic figure will be found in the National Archaeological Museum of Madrid.
