This semidesert landscape island belongs to the province of Las Palmas The capital is Puerto del Rosario. Fuerteventura is located 97 km off the African coast in the Canary Islands. Temperatures remain constant throughout the year, averaging 20 º C. Fuerteventura is characterized by arid semi-desert landscape, which makes this island a place with a unique landscape. Unamuno Monument: Miguel de Unamuno was a Spanish writer and philosopher who was exiled a few months in Fuerteventura in 1924. The work is made by sculptor Juan Borges Linares and is located on the "Burnt Mountain", Montaña Quemada of La Oliva.
