Alfredo Kraus Auditorium is an auditorium located in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria (island of Gran Canaria, Canary Islands) constitute one of the most unique buildings in the capital of Gran Canaria. Designed by Oscar Tusquets, was built between 1993 and 1997 with the idea of erecting a lighthouse to protect the beach of Las Canteras. In the auditorium Alfredo Kraus is celebrated annually the International Film Festival of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria and the Music Festival Canary Islands, among other festivals, as well as promoting contests, exhibitions, conferences, conventions and contacts of all kinds. It is also headquarters of the Philharmonic Orchestra of Gran Canaria.
Perez Galdos Theatre: The Pérez Galdós theatre was designed by architect Francisco Jareño and Alarcon in 1867. His current appearance, with some modifications, is due to contributions from Fernando Navarro and Miguel Martín Fernández de la Torre, after a fire almost completely destroyed it in 1928. The latter was assisted by his brother, the painter Néstor de la Torre, who was commissioned to decorate the stalls, lounges and the stage. It was originally called Theater of Tirso de Molina, until in 1901, coinciding with the release of "Electra", took the name of the writer canarian Benito Perez Galdos . After a complete renovation, the theater reopened again in April 2007.
Cuyás Theatre: It´s found at the stage of the old Cinema Cuyás, and is a work of the rationalist architect canary Miguel Martín Fernández de la Torre. Its main hall seats 940 people, divided between the stalls and two balconies. It also has a large patio that allows the organization of outdoor events.
Atlantic Center of Modern Art: The CAAM is a museum dedicated to contemporary art located in the neighborhood of La Vegueta in the city of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. It has an extensive permanent collection of some 2,500 works, many from America, Africa and Europe.
Columbus Museum: The museum is located in the historic district La Vegueta. Since 1951, its objects has revolved around the study, research and dissemination of the history of the Canary Islands and its relationship with America.
Las Palmas de Gran Canaria Carnival: Held mainly in the
Santa Catalina Park of las Palmas. The Carnival is the most established festival and one of the biggest of the island of Gran Canaria. In the festivity they celebrate the Gala Election of the Queen, and Choices Gala Drag Queen of the Carnaval.
