Vallehermoso: This is the largest municipality and most representative of La Gomera, its population is divided between the town and many neighborhoods scattered throughout the term, among the Chipude, El Cercado, Alojera, La Dama, Macayo, El Ingenio and Epina. Vallehermoso's economy is based mainly on agriculture, the main crops are grapes, bananas potatoes, fruit, and corn.

Garajonay National Park

This forest of La Gomera is located in the center of the island. Its highest point is the high of Garajonay, and has approximately 1480 meters. Its territory extends to all the municipalities of La Gomera, occupying the center and some areas north of the island. The terrain of the park, often wrapped in a damp fog is composed of basaltic materials, due to lava with various rocks. Inside is the Natural Monument of Los Roques.

 

Natural Reserve of Benchijigua

Situated in the town of San Sebastian, this important natural reserve of La Gomera houses many endangered species. It also has impressive cliffs overlooking a landscape very representative of La Gomera.

 

Reserva Natural de Puntallana

Another place with great beauty, their most unique elements are coastal cliffs and the Rocks of Aluce. Contains a large protected flora and fauna of the island, here we find the hermitage of La Vigen de Guadalupe, which brings an important traffic of pilgrims throughout the year.

 

Natural Park of Majona: With a beautiful eroded landscape characteristic of the island, this reserve was declared a such in 1987. It has protected important wildlife of the island. We find a population of 16 inhabitants in Enchereda, and Casas Jorado with 32 people!

 

Parque Rural de Valle de Gran Rey

Possibly one of the most extraordinary sites in La Gomera, natural reserve and municipality, steep slopes, valleys, and a traditional island architecture with great historic and cultural value.

Population: 198 inhabitants Los Granados, El Heater with 103 inhabitants, Lomo del Balo with 133 inhabitants, El Retamal with 162 inhabitants, with 220 inhabitants The Vizcaino, Chelo Houses with 30 people, The rest-houses with 33 inhabitants and de la Higuera del Llano, 76 people.

Protected Landscape of Orone: This traditional landscape of La Gomera has the Rocks of Fortaleza, Imada and Teremoche. We'll find it between the towns of Vallehermoso and Alajeró, and has Erques populations with 11 inhabitants and Igualero with 27 inhabitants. Right here we find the emblematic monument of La Fortaleza., which is a volcanic mountain with a cylindrical form.
