Guipúzcoa borders the French department of Pyrenees-Atlantiques from the northeast, Navarra to the east, Vizcaya to the west, Alava to the southeast Bay of Biscay to the north. Situated on the eastern edge of the Cantabrian Sea, in the Gulf of Biscay. The major cities are Irun, Renteria, Zarautz, Mondragon, Onate(which has an old university), Eibar, Tolosa (for ten years 1844-1854 was the provincial capital and seat of the Diputación Foral de Guipúzcoa), Beasain, Pasajes(the main port) and Hondarribia(old border fortress to defend against previous wars with France).

Its Atlantic climate gives a deep green color in this region, like their temperatures, low in winter and moderate temperatures in summer.

Gipuzkoa is the territory in the Basque country where Euskera is most spoken.

La Basque Coast(Euskal Kostaldea), sits at the eastern end of the north coast of the Iberian Peninsula and in the extreme southwest coast of western France, in Vizcaya, Guipuzcoa and Labourd (Atlantic Pyrenees department in the Aquitaine region) from the Covarón tip(Musques) to the mouth of the Adur River. It comprises the Bay of Biscay Bay. It is also called Kostaldea to the region of Urola Guipuzcoa coast, where stands the city of Zarautz.

 

Playa de la Concha Beach: The Playa de La Concha(Kontxa hondartza) is a beach in the Bay of La Concha in the basque town of San Sebastian. It´s the most popular beach in the Basque Country.

 

Playa de Fuenterrabía Beach: Fuenterrabia beach is located southeast of Cape Higuer and northwest of the mouth of the River Bidasoa, in the municipality of Hondarribia Guipuzcoa. The beach natural environment and the care it has is great. A beach with calm waters, clean and facilities (toilets, parking, access) and meters from the town of Fuenterrabía, which adds even more attractive, since it allows to visit and walk through a very beautiful area and delight the palate of the traveler with the local cuisine.

The massif of Aralar represents one of the most prominent mountainous areas in the Basque Country(Euskadi). The isolated silhouette of Mount Txindoki (1,331 meters) is a reference point for mountaineers and hikers, who have countless of small and big trails marked routes through which to enter into the landscape of this park.

Located in the southeastern area of Guipuzcoa, the park extends into the neighboring community of Navarra. Teatro Principal-Main Theatre: The oldest theater in San Sebastian. It opened in 1843, and adopted its current appearance in the late nineteenth century. Besides the usual plays and some of those presented at the Fair Theater Fair, it hosts most of the projections of the Week of Horror and Fantasy Film Festival, Film Festival and Human Rights and some films from the San Sebastian Film Festival
