This province is located west of Catalonia, bordering the provinces of Gerona, Barcelona, Tarragona, Zaragoza, Huesca, France(with the departments of Ariege and Haute Garonne) and Andorra. In this rich province among others we can find natural places such as the Aran Valley, a beautiful mountainous region with it´s own language, the Aranese. This green mountainous province, has a rich natural and cultural heritage, where we can enjoy all sports in all seasons.
In the provincial capital, Lleida options are endless for fun and entertainment alike. Lleida's nightlife is centered on Plaza Street Ricard Vinyes and Bonaire, where we find many bars, pubs, restaurants, pubs etc.
We can not leave Lleida without trying the "pomegranate", which are sweets made from almonds and sugar. Lleida is well connected by roads, motorways (A-2), highway (AP-2) and AVE (Madrid-Barcelona). It also has an airport in the town of Alguaire, 15 km from the city, which will be inaugurated in January 2010.
La Seu Cathedral|What to Visit in Lleida
La Seu Vella of Lleida or "Old cathedral" is the most emblematic monument of the city. It stands on the hill at the center of tow. The cathedral was first built in 1203, the main facade stands out for its exceptional dimensions (74m height.), making it one of the largest cloisters in Europe and for the unusual gallery, with views overlooking the city and county. The beauty and variety of its 17 gothic arches, all different.

In this region of the Central Pyrenees of Lleida live three dialects toghether, Occitan-Aranese, Castilian(Spanish) and Catalan. It is bordered on the north by France and the province of Aragon. Its capital is located in Vielha, a major destination when visiting the Valley. Among its most important ski resorts of Baqueira Beret.

Avellanes Bellpuig Monastery: This ancient abbey was ruled by the Order of St. Augustine, we find it in the municipality of Os de Balaguer, in the region of Noguera. There is a restaurant, rooms where you can stay, a house of spirituality, and a beautiful landscape to spend a pleasant weekend.

Districts of Lleida
Centre Històric: This is the oldest part of town where the main streets are and the "Turo de la Seu Vella", the heights where the Historical city(World Heritage), and the castle of Saracen origin (the Suda), and the Christian cathedral, La Seu Vella.
Cappont: Cappont is emerging as one of the most modern districts of Lleida. It is located on the left bank of the River Segre. We can find here the Elysees Gardens Park
Pardiñas: This district in Lleida is surrounded by nature, here we can find the Parc de la Mitjana Park , and various leisure areas.
Secà de Sant Pere: Historical district north of the city of Lleida founded by migrants in the 1950s and 1960s, also known as "El Secá."
What to visit in the Province of Lleida, Catalunya -Lleida Natural Parks
Aiguas Tortas National Park and Lake San Mauritius:
This is the only national park in the Catalan province. Located in the middle of the Pyrenees, is a place of great beauty and biological richness. Within this park we can find up to 80 different lakes and tall peaks exceeding 3,000 meters. This is an ideal place for walking, with routes through out the whole park, and enjoyment of their shelters, where we also spend the night after a long journey.
Natural Park l'Alt Pirineu: This natural park is the largest in Catalonia and here are the highest peaks of the province. It covers much of the Catalan Pyrenees and the counties of Alt Urgell and Pallars Sobirá.
Berguedà and Cerdanya: This is an impressive mountain range that stretches along 30 km along the rivers Segre and Llobregat in Lleida, Catalunya.
