El torrente de Pareis

Itinerary: Escorca - S´Entreforc (1 hour) - Sa Calobra (3 hours)

Sa

Calobra

For this excursion, you have to bear in mind the weather conditions, and if there is danger of rain or recent rainfall it´s better not to make the trip, as it can be very dangerous as the water flows. Therefore most appropriate months are July and August. The Escorca houses a restaurant and next to the C-710 between Lluc and Soller, opposite the church of Sant Pere, one of the oldest in Mallorca, as documented in 1246. Across Escorca houses, there is a small gate from where a road down will lead us to at stone wall. Bordering this wall we will leave behind a small gate and turn left along a road in an oak grove to which we will clearly see the path which will lead us easily to the stream bed. After an hour's drive from the point of departure, we shall get to S'Entreforc, where the road forks and continue through the right leg. Falling between the spectacular walls to the sea, in Sa Calobra. The section of the left leads to Sa Fosca, a place where the flood walls are coming together, becoming an underground cave where the water runs, to get back out on the surface. This would be a trip for experienced cavers. Once in Sa Calobra, if we have not brought a car, you can always find someone to take us to our starting point, because it is a busy place during the summer months.
