Ourense in Galicia is the third largest city by population after Vigo and La Coruña. This is the only region of Galicia that has no coastline and it´s mainly rural towns without big cities. The main industry it´s food and wine production. Orense is also a city of hot springs and famous spas, from the depths of their lands bloom with these waters with mineral and healing properties, already used by the ancient Romans, with famous roman baths along Ourense and it´s countryside. Ourense is in the southeastern part of Galicia, northern Spain.

Las Burgas: They are hot springs located in the city of Ourense, it´s
temperatures are between 64º - 68ºC
Medieval Bridge of Ourense: Known as well as the Roman Bridge, Old Bridge it was built in the 1st century AC
San Martín Cathedral: The cathedral has three beautiful Romanesque doors perfectly preserved, it was built between the mid-twelfth century and later in the XIII. Along with the Roman Bridge it´s one of the main landmarks of Orense.
Archeological Museum of Orense: Right in the Old Town, it hosts sculptures from the XVI and XVII centuries, and galician paintings from the XVII and XVIII.
Oca-Valladares Palace: This palace is one of the most important Renaissance buildings in Galicia, from 1850 is home of the Lyceum of Ourense, one of the oldest societies in the city.
Allaríz: Allariz it´s in the centre of the the galician province of Ourense, only a few kilometers from Ourense capital. Allariz was declared Historical Heritage of Spain, and we can see the main landmarks in the old town.

Carballino: The interior galician town it´s north east of Ourense.
and it´s surrounded by the beautifull countryside of Sierra del Faro, and the river Avia valley. Carballino hides a historical value that can be seen as we walk along the streets of the village, such as the Veracruz Temple, the Banga State, and Castro Covadoso. But one of the most picturesque places we can visit in Carballino are the "Pena dos Namorados", which are a large rock formations we can get to using the path that goes to Arenteiro. The Pena dos Namorados was considered a magical monument by the first settlers of Ourense.
The locality of Carballino it´s also home of important thermal and healing waters spas.
The As Caldas de Partovia Spas, the Gran Balneario do Carballiño Spa, and in the shores of the Arenteiro river we´ll find
"Bañiño de Arcos".
One of the desserts we must try in Carballino are the "Cañas de Carballino", which is a stretched pastry cut into strips.
Orense is famous for its spas and thermal waters.
Burgas de Outariz Thermal waters: Its waters have waters at a temperature of 60 º C, are free of charge and we can reach them with the tourist train from the city.
Burga do Muiño thermal waters: This large thermal water balnearium and is also free to use, we´ll find them in the nearby area of Quintela de Canedo.
Pozas de A Chavasqueira: The source delivers flow to 3 outdoor swimming pools. Their temperatures of between 64 and 58 º C are ideal for the treatment of rheumatism, arthritis or asthma. They are free of charge and we will find them beside the N120 motorway towards Madrid. They are also known as Caldas do Obispo.

Borders with Portugal, in the municipalities of Entrimo, Muíños Lobios and is an area covered by rivers, mountains and a unique fauna. There are stretches of hiking in the area of miliaria Lobios nine miles on the rise leading to Portela do Home.
Natural Park O Invernadeiro
The Ribeira Grande and Ribeira rivers run through this small park, belongs to the municipalities of Ourense Conso, Chandrexa of Queixa, Laza and Castrelo do Val. We can get there by car from Campobecerros, and from there we can continue along the footpath.

There is no airport in Ourense but we can get there flying to the galician towns of Santiago de Compostela, in A Coruña or to the nearest town of Vigo, in Pontevedra.
