Palencia, like most cities of Castile, has great artistic heritage, embers the importance it once had in the past. The scenery along this stretch of road as it passes through Palencia ranges from the green riverbanks of Pisuerga Carrion and the freshness of the Canal de Castilla(Castilla Channel)and the vastness of the Tierra de Campos. It crosses the province from Burgos to Leon, just over 70 kilometers, which we can add another 36 km that are for the journey for tourists or pilgrims on a bicycle. Besides the traditional route, there is an alternative branch, which goes from Cervatos de la Cueza, to San Román de la Cuba, Pozo de Urama, Pozuelo del Rey Villada and, leads us to link already in León, with the French Santiago Trail.
Palencia's cuisine is based on hot dishes, due to the cold prevailing weather. The clearest examples are the garlic soup, or the classic Castilian soup, made with country bread, water, oil, garlic and paprika, all of it home made, the crabs that are caught in rivers in Palencia are crustaceans par excellence . From the rivers magnificent trouts are also obtained.
