Located on the Cantabrian coast, north of the Iberian Peninsula, Spain, east of Asturias, west of the Basque Country, and north of Castille León. Cantabria has a climate typical of the northern regions of Spain, rains and winds from the Atlantic, bringing low temperatures in winter and hot in summer, which makes this region a place of green and lush vegetation. Cantabria is divided into three areas:
La Marina: This is a low coastal valley area, large and of mild forms of about 10 km wide where the altitude does not normally exceed 500m, it borderes the sea by a shallow coastal line, forming steep cliffs which are are broken by the appearance of mouths of rivers leading to estuaries and beaches. On the coast of the La Marina we will find the the Bay of Santander. In the south La Marina limits with the Cantabrian mountains.
La Montaña(The Mountain): It is a long barrier of rugged mountains parallel to the sea that make up part of the Cantabrian mountains,
the valleys configure different natural regions of Cantabria, Liébana, Nansa, Saja, Besaya, Pas-Pisueña, Miera, Asón-Gándara, Campoo.
Campoo and the Southern Valleys: Another region of Cantabria is Campoo, in the extreme south of Cantabria.

Torrelavega: Important industrial and commercial center of the autonomous community of Cantabria, located about eight kilometers from the Spanish Cantabrian coast, and 24.5 kilometers from the capital Santander, between Asturias and the Basque Country.
Camargo: Situated at the entrance of the region´s capital Santander, is part of its metropolitan area. The township has numerous natural attractions, a few examples are the Marshes of Raos, the Cueva de El Pendo Caves and Punta Parayas Park near the airport.
Castro Urdiales: Castro Urdiales is a coastal town and municipality located in the eastern Cantabrian coast of the municipality of Cantabria, it has a length of nearly 20 kilometers in which we can find great beaches, and cliffs of great beauty.
Piélagos: With 8 kilometers of coastline and seven beaches the most important is Valdearenas Beach, including the Natural Park Dunes of Liencres.
Es Astillero: The confluence of the rivers and the coast of the bay of this town make a large extension of wetlands where they throughout the year various migratory birds nest.
Laredo: It is situated on the eastern part of Cantabria, along the Cantabrian Sea. It is the county's main town.
Santoña: The town is surrounded almost entirely by the Cantabrian Sea, bounded on the north Berria beach, south to the beach of San Martin, on the east by Mount Buciero and west by the municipalities of Argoños Escalante and Bárcena de Cicero. In this direction lies the fishing port and the new section of the marina and the Marshes of Santoña, which along with Victoria and Joyel are the Marshes Nature Reserve of Santoña, Victoria and Joyel.
Altamira Caves: Declared World Heritage Site by the UNESCO, 12000 bC.
About 30km from the Caves of Altamira, this is medieval museum village which can only be explored on foot. This is a historic town in Spain. Houses were built between the fourteenth and eighteenth century.
