Muxika(Múgica): The origins of the municipality goes back to 1966, when Múgica annexed the villages of Ibarruri and Gorozica, which became districts of Muxika. Muxika it´s between the mountains of Oiz and Bizcargi, within the Natural Park and Biosphere Reserve of Urdaibai, giving Mugica an exceptional countryside. It has impressive natural landmarks such as the Oka´s Pass, the Askari forest, and the bushes of Atxeli.
